Microsoft Office exce: open office sun office?
Have you ever made comparisons between the very expensive Microsoft Office Exceland the free Office Suites: sun office, open office etc? What do you think of them?Do you know any other free versions of Office Suites that are compatible with MS Office?I need the ms office for college classes but don't want the cost involved.
open office vs ms office........................?
which is u prefer to use .......................which is the best?
microsoft office what suites you best?
microsoft has many types of office productivity why they just can update only and you can choice what updates you like. Just like office 97, office 2000, office xp, office 2003, office 2007 then office 2010. can microsoft offer more cheaper version of office suites to people just like open office.
Windows OS or Mac OS, which One is Better?
Hmm.. Which one do you think is a the better Operating System? For me it depends, application and compatibility wise, I'll go with Windows. I have been using Windows operating systems for quite some time now. I haven't used Macintosh that much. I guess one good advantage of Windows is that most of the applications you wanted to install to your computer like games office suites etc is fits well with Windows (excluding Windows Vista). What I think about Macintosh operating system is that when it's there, it's already there, you don't have to change or configure anything like that plus virus and spyware free. Any additonal thoughts about these two OS?
Where can i find good open source applications?
Go to www.osliving.com. This is a huge source of free open source applications that can fit in categories like multimedia, file trasncfer software, games, office suites, graphics and image editing software.
Devotional for Tuesday, June 19, 2007
Have you ever done something that was so stupid that you looked back later and said "If I only had a brain!" That happened to me yesterday. I went downstairs to the coffee shop and bought two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Now, I feel like I must mention here that this is my favorite cookie in the entire world. As a matter of fact, if the vote were to come up...I would vote yes to make chocolate a food group. After coming back up the stairs to the office suites, I decided that the cookies would be much better if they were warm and gooey. I stuck them in the microwave, hit what I thought was 20 seconds and left the break room to speak to a colleague.A few minutes later, I came back to get what I thought would be my warm, delicious chocolate chip cookies: to find the microwave still running. In horror, I smelled burned chocolate and looked up to see that the digital numbers on the microwave read 17 minutes remaining. I had obviously punched in too many zero's.I pulled out what was now two very hard round disks that could easily do bodily harm to someone, should they be hit in the head with them. "Oh look!" said my former friend. "You made petrified rocks" I...
Have you ever tried Linux instead of MS Windows?
Linux (also known as GNU/Linux) is a Unix-like computer operating system. It is one of the most prominent examples of open source development and free software; its underlying source code is available for anyone to use, modify, and redistribute freely. Initially developed and used primarily by individual enthusiasts on personal computers, Linux has since gained the support of corporations such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and Novell, Inc., and has risen to prominence as an operating system for servers; eight of the ten most reliable internet hosting companies now run Linux on their web servers. Linux has been more widely ported to different computing platforms than any other operating system. It is used in devices ranging from supercomputers to mobile phones, and is gaining popularity in the personal computer market. Linux is predominantly used as part of a Linux distribution (commonly called a "distro"). These are compiled by individuals, loose-knit teams, and commercial and volunteer organizations. They commonly include additional system and application software, an installer system to ease initial system setup, and integrated management of software installation...
# micro$oft-Novell joint letter: Eben Moglen raises questions and rightly so.
Hereafter, I am not going to recommend $u$e to anyone.Over the past six years, we've seen the effect that the open source community has had on Microsoft. They've shared some source code, driven community projects like IronPython and WiX, and they continue to work with a number of open source software companies like JBoss, SugarCRM, XenSource, and Zend. However, today's news is a big step forward for the Linux market. Today, for the first time, Microsoft is collaborating directly with a Linux and Open Source software vendor. With this news, Microsoft is saying that Linux is an important part of the IT infrastructure.More importantly, Microsoft announced today that it will not assert its patents against individual, non-commercial developers. Novell has secured an irrevocable promise from Microsoft to allow individual and non-commercial contributors the freedom to continue open source development, free from any concern of Microsoft patent lawsuits. That's right, Microsoft wants you to keep hacking. Why is Microsoft doing this? Because they recognize that customers today are deploying mixed source solutions - Windows and Linux - and they want these...
