Microsoft Office exce: open office sun office?
Have you ever made comparisons between the very expensive Microsoft Office Exceland the free office suites: sun office, Open Office etc? What do you think of them?Do you know any other free versions of office suites that are compatible with MS Office?I need the ms office for college classes but don't want the cost involved.
Save $150.00+ with Open Office instead of Microsoft Office
You can save $150 or more by downloading open office free instead of buying the $150+ Microsoft Office. Open office is pretty much the same program, with this you can make, edit, and open: powepoint files, word documents, excel, publisher files, plus great new programs like draw, impress, calc, and base. This program has all the same features plus more, it's better then Microsoft Office and it's FREE!!! You can dowload it here: http://www.openoffice.org
Open Office ASCII Filter Options
I am currently using a Linux (Xandros 4 to be exact) laptop for much of my writing. It runs Open Office 2.3, which has generally worked quite well. However, I saved a file recently, and when I opened it again later a window opened up asking for which ASCII language I wanted it in. I had saved this as a regular Open Office file, I didn't choose anything different. Now with whatever language I open it in, I just get a 162 page long document filled with symbols, mainly #'s. This is a relatively important document, as it contains all my notes for other documents. I have already had to rewrite it once due to this same thing happening and do not want to again. I also fear that a similar thing will happen to more of my documents, some of which I have put more than 200 hours of work into. Is there any way to retrieve this document? Is there any way to stop this from happening again?
Does anyone have open office.org.
This is a office program that is a free edition of microsoft office. It has math which is supposed to be like excel. It has slowed my computer down . And when you open up the math program it doesn't start in the spreadsheet and I can't get the spreadsheet screen to open just to see what it looks like. has anyone else had problems with this program. I can't afford microsoft office right now. Also, does anyone know of another free program or low cost program, even if it only has a word processing program. I have already tried abi word. That was OK.
Open Office or Microsoft Office
With Open Office 3 supporting MS office 2007 formats, would you rather use Open Office as your office suite application or stick go with the pricey Microsoft 2007 Office Suite?
is there any other opensource office software besides open office?
i am asking because open office takes to long to download and i have had broken downloads for two days now, is there anything else i can use?
Linux Open Office to Microsoft Word converter?
Recently I bought a Linux laptop (Asus EEE PC). It's working great, but my desktop computer isn't Linux, it's Vista. One of the main things I use my laptop for is writing, but since Linux uses OpenOffice, and Vista Microsoft Word, I can't transfer writing onto Vista from Linux because of the file types. Is there a converter I can get so that I can transfer between the computers?

Open office, closed office or cubicle - which you prefer and where you work?
I know there is no perfect solution for a work environment, some things work better for some people, some work better for others. So I started this discussion to learn about people's preferences and experiences.I personally work in a company that uses a mix between open plan office and cubicle layout. We have wall sections around 3 feet high inside every four-desk cluster and no walls anywhere else. I like the layout since people are generally quiet here and having cross-cluster conversations is very easy when needed. I don't think a real cubicle or an office would work half as good. Of course, if we had more people in a room (currently around 20) then things would be different:)What's your preference - do you like a completely open plan office, do you like having walls and a door or do you prefer the solution in between these two? In what setting do you work now, whether and why you like it?
